This backing track was created not only to practice the solo, but to help with learning your scales and improvisation skills.
The red notes are B minor pentatonic but if you add the blue notes you get the B natural minor scale (Aeolian mode). This is the way many famous guitar players think, including Slash, Kirk Hammett and Eric Clapton to name a few.
The final diagram tracks where Kirk plays, notice he adds a C natural at times, this is more of a Phrygian sound.
